Sometimes a little bit means a lot.

This Marine Veteran and his 18 pieces of authentic Vietnamese shrapnel just needed a railing because he keeps falling down in bad weather. He lives alone now after his wife passed. His wife’s sister reached out to us through Facebook because she could not find a contractor who would do a small job. We did it for free.

No problemo.

**The best part of this project is that my 17-year old son helped. My son is only 6 months younger than Jim was when he got wounded. Jim had seen a lot before he turned 19. He told us the whole story and remarked that he had not told it in decades. We stood in the rain and listened to the whole thing, commendation papers and all. People just want to be seen, it’s the most basic human social need. I tell my kids never to forget that.

Small, but powerful stuff in the slide show below. Enjoy.
